FIBRE GARDEN CIC

fibre Garden started as a steering Group of enthusiastic members of both Garsdale and Dentdale to see how we could take advantage of the funding streams that had been announced to bring superfast broadband to both Dales.

The Steering Group then became more formalised and representatives, including the Chairs and another nomination, from both Parish Councils had a secured membership. A constitution was published and endorsed by both Parish Councils to give the required authority to act for the communities.

As the project developed and to ensure that we had a a more formal legal structure in place to take advantage of grant funding fibre GarDen was formed into a company limited by guarantee. Membership expanded to bring in more expertise from local residents.

It became clear that in order to act in the best interests of the communities and to protect any acquired assets (financial, physical or otherwise) we needed to reform as a Community Interest Company that locks any assets for the benefit of the communities.

fibre GarDen Limited was re registered as fibre GarDen CIC with Companies House on the 3rd November 2011.
