Welcome to the fibre GarDen
community broadband initiative

WORKING WITH OUR COMMUNITIES

Fibre Garden holds Community Meetings in Garsdale, Dentdale and Cowgill all of which were well attended, and in some case there was standing room only!

The Chairs of the respective Parish Councils opened the meetings and followed followed by a presentation given Andrew Fleck that explained why we should have and need superfast broadband, how it can be achieved and how important it is for the communities to get involved and offer their support.

The presentation was interactive with many questions being asked about the proposed service to the two Dales. An Intent Form was handed out that also asked for an indication of the support and investment members of the communities might be prepared to offer. A copy of the presentation and a summary of the meeting will be emailed or posted to everyone in two Dales and published on this website.

Our aim is to secure the provision of Fibre to the Premises (FttP) throughout the Garsdale and Dentdale Parishes and where required in the surrounding areas.

This will be achieved through participation in the Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) pilot for Cumbria. The endorsement, support and involvement of the communities covered will be vital to the success of the initiative.

We will also work collaboratively with public and private organisations and their representatives, concerned with the provision of Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband through fibre optics and complimentary technologies. This will include appropriate Government Departments, Local Authorities and supportive institutions.

This will be delivered and managed through fibre GarDen Limited, to be registered as a Community Interest Company, for the benefit of the communities served.
